Can a tree grow back after stump grinding?

Regrowth is much less likely because most of the stump and major surface roots are removed. Some species with vigorous root systems can still send up the odd shoot nearby, which is easy to manage by mowing or cutting shoots as they appear.

How deep should a stump be ground?

Most stumps are ground to around 15 to 30 centimetres below the surface, which is enough for new turf or garden beds. Deeper grinding can be done for construction or larger planting holes, depending on stump size, soil and buried services.

Can you grind a stump from a tree someone else removed?

Yes. We grind old stumps, stumps left by other contractors and palm stumps. Send a photo with something for scale and we'll quote it.
